Award winning photo of Africaid’s work

the mock graveyard

In 2011, Zvandiri youth created their own mock graveyard to advocate for an end to new HIV infections and HIV-related deaths in children. This was a very moving exhibit and left a big mark on the conference delegates who visited the exhibit.

Mr Wallace Mawire is a Zimbabwean photographer who visited the conference and photographed Africaid’s exhibit. We are happy to announce that the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) in association with Save the Children Sweden presented Mr Mawire with the Best Photojournalist award in Lilongwe, Malawi on 22 December 2012 for contribution towards ethical reporting on child rights in the Media.

Well done Mr Mawire for representing Zimbabwe and thank you for helping us to get our message out far and wide.
