 Africaid is a community based organisation which, through its Zvandiri programme, integrates community prevention, treatment, care and support for children, adolescents and young people living with HIV.Africaid works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in implementing these interventions. The following positions have arisen in our organisation:-

 

  1. Zvandiri Mentors (11 posts)

 Summary

  • Africaid is seeking to recruit Zvandiri Mentors who will be responsible for coordinating the scale up of Africaid’s Zvandiri model and Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS) services through technical capacity building of MoHCC service providers and support and mentorship of CATS in various districts of Zimbabwe.  This role will include amongst other things, coordination of Africaid’s project activities in the districts, in accordance with the approved project work plans ensuring timeous delivery of the project to the required quality standards. It will also seek to ensure that all programme beneficiaries receive the appropriate differentiated care, based on the CATS Zvandiri Intervention Model.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Social Science preferred
  • At least  three years experience in community development and/or mobilisation
  • Experience working with children and adolescents essential
  • Comprehensive understanding of Africaid’s Zvandiri Model desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in adolescent HIV/ART programming, including community, peer-led interventions
  • Fluency in English and Shona or Ndebele a requirement.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the Ministry of Health and Child Care Systems

 

  1. Zvandiri Interns (11 Posts)

 Summary

  • Africaid is seeking to recruit a Zvandiri Interns who will be responsible for assisting the Zvandiri Mentors in coordinating the scale up of Africaid’s Zvandiri model and Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS) services through technical capacity building of MoHCC service providers and support and mentorship of CATS in a district of Zimbabwe.This role will include amongst other things, assisting in coordination of Africaid’s project activities in the districts, in accordance with the approved project work plans ensuring timeous delivery of the project to the required quality standards.Also assist in strengthening the prevention and response to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of children with HIV in Zimbabwe.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences or related field preferred, or current enrolment in a Bachelors program
  • Some experience in community development and/or mobilisation
  • Experience working with children and adolescents essential
  • Comprehensive understanding of Africaid’s Zvandiri Model desirable
  • Fluency in English and Shona with knowledge of Ndebele a plus
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the Ministry of Health and Child Care Systems
