Hello 2013

Africaid resumed work at their Avondale offices recently and it is great to be back and 2013 so far is promising to be better than 2012. First we would like to tell you that Africaid was this year’s winner of The Auxillia Chimusoro award-which seeks to honor the exceptional work done by individuals and organisations in the response to HIV/AIDS. The award comes with a grant of US$5 000. Check the full story at http://nehandaradio.com/2013/01/28/u-s-backs-zim-youth-in-fight-against-aids-stigma/
The Vocational Skills Programme has started once again with beneficiaries already enrolled for their chosen short courses at the Harare Polytechnic College and everyone is pretty much excited. Also the Zvandiri centres have begun their work- providing youth friendly corners and free environ. The CATS team started on a good note complementing their good work and they want to improve on the services they provide. Inorder to improve teambuilding they are now celebrating each other’s birthdays.
On a sad note, our I.T mentor Andreas Keller had to move on and fulfill other duties working for another organisation-Afya Mzuri located in Zambia(specialises in the implementation of HIV prevention and wellness programmes). On behalf of the Africaid team, Andy we miss you-do well, be well!
